Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using YourStory, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

These terms apply to all users of YourStory, including those who access the service through free and paid subscriptions.

Description of Service

YourStory is a personal journaling application that allows you to record daily thoughts, track emotions, and reflect on your personal journey. The service includes features such as guided prompts, mood tracking, memory calendars, and annual summaries.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time, with reasonable notice when possible.

Account Registration

To use certain features of YourStory, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep this information updated.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

Subscription and Payments

Free and Premium Features

YourStory offers both free and premium subscription tiers. Some features are available only to premium subscribers. We reserve the right to change which features are included in each tier.

Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Refunds

Refunds are handled according to the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not process refunds directly. Please contact Apple or Google for refund requests.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings. Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period.

User Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create in YourStory, including journal entries, photos, and other personal content. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

By using YourStory, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

You are solely responsible for the content you create. You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purposes or to store content that violates applicable laws.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use YourStory only for its intended purpose as a personal journaling tool. You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems
• Use the service to distribute malware or harmful content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Use the service in any way that could damage or impair it
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

iCloud and Data Sync

YourStory uses Apple iCloud for data synchronization across your devices. By enabling iCloud sync, you agree to Apple's terms of service for iCloud. We are not responsible for data loss or issues arising from iCloud service disruptions.

We recommend regularly exporting your data as a backup. You can export your journal entries at any time through the app settings.

Intellectual Property

YourStory, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the application without our prior written consent.

The YourStory name, logo, and associated branding are our trademarks. You may not use these marks without our permission.

Disclaimers

YourStory is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

YourStory is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are experiencing mental health concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of YourStory. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the app settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to YourStory if you violate these terms or if we believe your use poses a risk to the service or other users.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of YourStory after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of YourStory shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
